CFORE Publications
The Canadian Forum on Religion and Ecology is pleased to announce a book series to be published by the University of Toronto Press. Our first three books are as follows:
- Overview of religion and ecology as is emerging in Canada and situated in this shift of consciousness that is occurring aournd the world. The book is being written by the CFORE steering committee and will introduce the themes and issues from a Canadian perspective. A likely structure would be intro, overvew and challenges, ethics, gender, regional differences, and multiplicity of religious voices. It is not to be divided by religious traditions. Scheduled for 2008.
- Responses from many traditions. This is an edited collection featuring work by steering committee members and invited authors. An overview of the many religious voices in Canada, (both instutional/leadership and on the ground - meaning not just statements but also practices) their responses to ecological issues, and internal and external challenges. The book would conclude with a chapter on the multi-and inter-religious challenges on ecological concerns. Scheduled for 2009.
- Specific Canadian Ecological Issues. This book reflects the commitment of CFORE to regional concerns, with a blend of academics and activists, interdisciplinary mix, and orientations towards public policy. The writers would be chosen from several disciplines, including art and activism. The focus might be on issues such as water, from across the country, or on regional issues: landscape, fisheries, agriculture and farming, Great Lakes, etc. Scheduled for 2010.
